Physical education is important for all age groups and especially children as their bones and muscles undergo continuous growth and development. Physical education helps teach the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, mutual support amongst student crowd, organizing self and others and communication skills.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts teach children to learn in different ways and approach problems and challenges creatively. In turn creativity promotes brain activity.

Co-scholastic education at NCFE includes art as a major influential aspect to children. Students learn different methods of art through various hands-on practical experiences. Art is always taught and tested in children based on the strong assumption that every child is creative.

Children develop the skills of invention, creativity, sensitivity, concentration power and imagination through artwork. Art education helps children to improve their self initiated learning, willingness to consider new ideas and also a close look at things. Children are provided with various opportunities and platforms to showcase their talents within school as well as in external competitions and exhibitions.

To be successful our children need to be resourceful, creatively thinking and empowered. A well rounded curriculum displays complete education and music plays a major role in completing this.

Music allows an individual to express feelings without having the necessity of words and that gives way to an emotional artistic outlet.

Music classes are conducted as a part of the regular curriculum during the normal school hours. Students learn music theoretically and have practical sessions to have hands-on experience as well. The theory classes include Indian and Western music notations practice. Children not only learn music but also get to know the life history of various musicians and related topics. The music room at National Centre for Excellence has various types of musical instruments like Keyboard, Drums, Harmonium, Tabla, Congo, Mridangam to name some. Children are allowed to exhibit their talent in functions held at school.

Dance is one of the most expressive forms of art. The divinity of the art can be expressed through various styles. Dance provides for physical activity in a child and in turn promotes mental and psychological well being. Dance helps in building and developing self control and social skills such as co-operation, peer interaction, self esteem and more. Learning dance enhances a child’s academic performance and physical well-being.

Every style of dance reflects the nativity, culture, grandeur and the associated regional heritage. The current and forthcoming generations have the responsibility to respect and preserve this form of art through learning, understanding its importance and performing with due respect.

Music classes are conducted as a part of the regular curriculum during the normal school hours. Dance as a part of curriculum promotes contentment and happiness in a child as it is a way of expression through movement and co-ordination.
